In Great Britain, on that point were economic difficulties. For example, the decay of several industries led to high unemployment. In 1929, the Labour Party, which was the largest party in Great Britain, couldnt solve the problems and fell from power two geezerhood later. Britain wouldnt go as far as famine spending, though.France had become the most powerful power in Europe at the end of the war, and wanted to rebuild the parts of France that had been destroyed by the war. However, no French government was able to solve the financial problems at that time. Because Frances economy was more balanced, it felt the effects after the different countries did. However, when it did, there was political chaos. Eventually, Communists, Socialists, and Radicals formed a Popular bird-scarer government. The Popular Front made the French newborn Deal, based on FDRs brisk Deal. It gave t he right to do collective bargaining, 40 hour work weeks, two-week nonrecreational vacations, and minimum wages. However, France didnt have much confidence in this system.In the United States, the industrial production fell to 50 percent of what it was in 1929. Franklin Delano Roosevelt, also known as FDR, pursued a policy called the New Deal. It created the National Recovery Administration, which required government, labor, and industrial leaders to work out regulations for each industry. However, it was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, which said that the government shouldnt intervene in the economy. The NRA was replaced with the Second New Deal and the workings Progress Administration. The WPA employed many people to build bridges, roads, post offices, and other buildings, so people could be paid and get the economy divergence again. The New Deal did not solve the unemployment problems of the Great Depression, though. Only knowledge base War II brought the Unit ed States workers back to full employment.
