THE PATRIOTThe Patriot, directed by Roland Emmerich has to be one of the most patriotic films I piddle eer seen. This film focuses on merit, and how people of all backgrounds worked together for one give freedom. The movie for the most part is accurate, even though most commentators have a different standpoint. Many of us are aware of the transition and different important historical events. But, what we have to put into perspective is they the flair all of these historical events have been perceived.The movies protagonist is Mel Gibson playing the role of asa dulcis Martin. Benjamin Martin is a South Carolina planter who is still haunted by his notoriously brutal past as a soldier in the French and Indian War. When the American Revolution comes, he chooses not to counterbalance for the Continental Army because he wants to protect his family. But when the British Colonel Tavington threatens their offbeat and kills one of his sons, he chooses to enlist. Martin becomes the le ader of a makeshift militia, which consists of peasants, slaves, a minister, and other irregulars. During the war Martin and his men discover that they get out pay a draw personal price for their rebellion, but are still willing and will go in with it.
